Hungry'S Inc. (the "Company") recognizes the importance of protecting customers' personal information on UB PARTS (https://www.ub-p.com, the "Site"), complies with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (the "APPI"), and strives for appropriate handling and protection in accordance with the following Privacy Policy (this "Policy").

1. Definition of personal information

In this Policy, "personal information" means personal information as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the APPI: information about a living individual that can identify the specific individual by name, date of birth, or other description contained in the information (including information that can be readily collated with other information and thereby identify the specific individual), or information containing a personal identification code.

2. Personal information we collect

In operating the Site, the Company collects the following personal information.

  • Name and phonetic reading (furigana)
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Address (postal code, prefecture/region, city, street address, building name)
  • Vehicle identification number (VIN) — used for product fitment confirmation
  • Credit card information — securely processed by the payment system of Square, Inc. The Company does not retain card information

3. Purposes of use

The Company uses customers' personal information for the following purposes.

  • Fitment confirmation for products sold on the Site (vehicle matching based on the VIN)
  • Shipping and delivery of products
  • Confirming order details and responding to inquiries
  • Providing product warranty
  • Providing member services (if registered)
  • Informing you about products and services on the Site
  • Responding to conduct that violates the Site's terms, policies, etc.
  • Notifying you of changes to the Site's terms, etc.
  • Improving the Site and developing new services
  • Creating statistical data processed into a form that cannot identify individuals
  • Other purposes incidental to the above

4. Changes to the purposes of use

The Company may change the purposes of use within a scope reasonably deemed relevant, and will notify or announce such changes to customers.

5. Restrictions on use

Except as permitted by the APPI or other laws, the Company will not handle personal information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use without the customer's consent. However, this does not apply in the following cases:

  • When based on laws and regulations
  • When necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and obtaining the customer's consent is difficult
  • When specially necessary to improve public health or promote the sound development of children, and obtaining the customer's consent is difficult
  • When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, local government, or their delegate in performing duties prescribed by law, and obtaining the customer's consent may impede those duties

6. Proper acquisition

The Company acquires personal information properly and does not acquire it by deceit or other wrongful means.

7. Security management of personal information

Against risks such as loss, destruction, alteration, and leakage of personal information, the Company provides necessary and appropriate supervision of its employees to ensure security management. When the Company entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information, it also provides necessary and appropriate supervision of the contractor to ensure security management.

For storing personal information we use the secure database service of Supabase, Inc.; for payment processing, the payment platform of Square, Inc.; and for sending order-confirmation emails and the like, the email delivery service of Resend, Inc.

8. Provision to third parties

Except where disclosure is permitted under the APPI or other laws, the Company will not provide personal information to third parties without the customer's prior consent. However, the following do not constitute provision to a third party as defined above:

  • When personal information is provided in connection with entrusting all or part of its handling within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use (e.g., providing delivery information to carriers, payment information to Square, Inc., entrusting storage of member/order information to Supabase, Inc., and providing sending email addresses, etc. to Resend, Inc.)
  • When personal information is provided in connection with business succession due to merger or other reasons
  • When jointly used under the provisions of the APPI

9. Disclosure of personal information

When a customer requests disclosure of personal information under the APPI, the Company will, after confirming that the request is from the customer themselves, disclose it without delay (if the personal information does not exist, the Company will notify the customer accordingly). However, this does not apply where the Company is not obligated to disclose under the APPI or other laws.

10. Correction, etc. of personal information

When a customer requests correction, addition, or deletion ("correction, etc.") of personal information under the APPI on the ground that it is not true, the Company will, after confirming that the request is from the customer themselves, conduct the necessary investigation without delay within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use, make the correction, etc. based on the results, and notify the customer accordingly.

Registered members can change their registered information from My Page.

11. Suspension of use, etc. of personal information

When a customer requests suspension or erasure ("suspension of use, etc.") of their personal information under the APPI on the ground that it is being handled beyond the previously announced purposes of use or was acquired by deceit or other wrongful means, and the request is found to be justified, the Company will, after confirming that the request is from the customer themselves, suspend the use, etc. without delay and notify the customer accordingly.

12. Use of cookies and other technologies

(1) The Site may use cookies and similar technologies. These help us understand how the Site is used and contribute to service improvement. Customers who wish to disable cookies can do so by changing their web browser settings; however, disabling cookies may prevent the use of some features of the Site.

(2) The Company uses Google Analytics, an access-analysis tool provided by Google LLC, to survey and analyze how the Site is used. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect records of your activity on the Site, but does not collect personally identifying information such as name, address or email address. Google Analytics is activated only if you consent to the use of cookies via the banner on the Site; if you do not consent, no measurement takes place. Collected information is handled in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

14. Continuous improvement

The Company will review the operation of its handling of personal information as appropriate, strive for continuous improvement, and may change this Policy as necessary. Any changes will be published on this page together with the update date.
